Junior football in the Dandenong Ranges
Emerald Junior Football Club has given kids in Emerald and the surrounding hills a place to play Australian Rules in a safe, supportive, family-run environment. We wear the red sash made famous in the VFL/AFL — around here, the nickname is still the Bombers.
The club is entirely volunteer-operated. More than 150 local families cover game days, training nights and Sunday meals. If you have a child who wants a game, there is a side for them.

NAB AFL Auskick
The starting place for budding AFL stars. Skills, games and mates on Saturday mornings at Worrell Reserve.
All abilities
All Abilities Auskick
A welcoming session for kids of every ability to get involved in AFL, make friends and enjoy being active.
Under 8s to Under 14s
Mixed junior teams
Mixed sides from Under 8s to Under 14s that keep more kids in the game, learning the contest together in red and black.
Under 16s to Under 18s
Junior boys
Boys teams from Under 16s through to Under 18s, playing in the Outer East competition.
Under 10s to Under 18s
Junior girls
Girls football from Under 10s to Under 18s. In 2025 the club joined the Women’s and Girls Charter.
Community
We build strong relationships with our families, volunteers, sponsors and local community organisations.

We support continuous learning and growth for players, coaches, officials and volunteers.

Women’s and Girls Charter
Go girls
In season 2025 Emerald Junior joined the Women’s and Girls Charter. Girls sides run from Under 10s to Under 18s, and we want every girl in the hills to have a team.
